Mindmap what do you learn

First of all, attention and concentration are quit important. You must like the subject and to be curious about it. Try to understand what do you read. Always look at the subject entirety and understand all its aspects. Don't fixate on one specific chapter. Finally mindmap whole the subject, use key words. Mind map your notes. Don't forget REPETITION.

High self-efficacy

As a masters of applied psychology student, I believe in high self-efficacy. It's my personal experience that whenever I think positively, I can do it. Positive thinking helps me accomplish my goals. Secondly, attention and interest in subject is most important. Third, relax your mind and set a proper timetable and then follow it. Fourth, always try to comprehend what you have learned. For strengthening the material you have learned, it helps to write on a paper and lastly take a short breaks while studying and revise daily what you have covered in lectures. If you do these things, you will be definitely a successful person.

My Psychology Study Tips

In fact as students of psychology we must be active and free of stress each day. It is also important to look for psychological problems to solve. By observing the world around us and applying the things we are learning to real-world situations, it enables us to put our knowledge to practical use. No matter what topic you are studying, finding ways to make use of the information in your daily life is one of the best ways to study.

Psychology Study Tip

After reading your psychology book, summarize and try to drill yourself. This really helps cement the information in your mind.

Keep Your Attitude Positive. Seriously.

Avoid the negative self-talk. If someone asks “how’s it going with the studies” – don’t ever say “it sucks” or “I’m screwed for sure” – because the more you believe and imagine yourself to “be screwed” despite of what you want, your imagination will always get the best of you.

Use "Psychology" - For Psychology :)

Give yourself firm, positive auto-suggestions. - As soon as you wake up, within the first 5 mins. - Just before you sit down to study - Just before you fall asleep, once you are in bed (best, if it’s the last thing you are thinking of as you fall asleep.) - Just before your exam – as you are entering the examination hall Be thankful. Practice the well-known “attitude of gratitude” towards your subconscious mind, after every study session & exam. Thank it for the guidance, courage, persistence and focus it provided to you. This way, you train your subconscious mind to always execute positivity during exams and studying and will gradually and eventually take away the insecure mindset which causes excessive stress. Every time you feel negative/insecure about your exam, quickly shift your perspective towards positivity, think in present tense and feel happy of the achievement – as if you’ve already received it.

Listen to lecturer & take notes

The most essential part of learning whilst in a lecture and during your study is to understand the concept. To list keywords or technical words may help a lot so when you go back home you revise and express them in your own words. For revision I suggest rote memorization especially when including quotations and prepare key sentences to refer to before your exams. Good luck

Summarize for yourself.

I have found that after I read a passage - not the whole chapter, but just a section - if I write a brief summary of it (even if I erase the whole thing a minute later!), it moves it to a different part of my brain and it sticks.

Take interest

When you study something, you must have interest in it. If you are interested, then you can face all problems otherwise you cant learn about it.

When to study?

Study when you feel relaxed. Feel relaxed always. Make yourself to learn in a silent environment. Once you have achieved this, read the notes carefully with concentration. Recall it by saying it louder. Take a break every 30 minutes. Be calm, systematic and well prepared for the exams.

Think About Your Own Life Experiences

I would like to share a good method of studying psychology and develop basic understanding to learn more. Try to think of your own life experiences while reading psychology learning materials. Introspection as one among good learning method helps to understand psychological concepts, principles and theories. Reading learning material with out understanding its relation to our previous knowledge and experience makes it difficult to understand.

My study tips

When I read, I form a question from the topic and after reading I try to answer the questions I formed. If it seems difficult to answer, then I have to read the chapter again until am able to answer the questions and define some of the terms in my own word.

Importance of lectures

Never skip lecture! If nothing else, these lectures will help you do better on exams.

Psychology Study Tips

Like any subject-I'd choose repetition. I flunked out of college, but do remember some of my study hours. The subject must find a place in your mention of abilities (confidence), from what I do know--I can say that the foundation was there to bring perspective around - gradually. The FAST Track(?)..I would say collaboration would be that. Psychology for me was very puzzling-and Sociology though having ample amounts of approach(was boring). I would in answering this question mention today's dream "passion"..and that its a poor substitute for actual knowledge and upbringing. Education seems to look for a "landing spot"..and in my judgment--its flimsy.

Take Lots of Notes

Personally, I have to write down EVERYTHING if I'm ever going to remember it. Taking lots of good notes during class and then making notes from the readings is my number one study tip. Then, I can just go back and review my notes later, making it much easier to remember all the information.
